I will walk by Faith

I will walk by faith

I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see, because this broken road prepares your will for me.

I will walk this next 7 months by faith, because this broken road prepares your will for me.

As Christians we say we will do the things God has called us to do, we say we will give things up to follow God, but the key here is alot of times we only say. If only we truly knew how hard it was to leave everything behind or give everything up and have to completely put there trust in God my guess is the answer to the question "would u truly give up everything to follow God" would change to some degree. I came on this trip knowing I would miss my family, my friends, my church, my country, and everything else I left at home. But before I left I didn't know what it was actually going to feel like to miss those things and leave those things behind. It is already mid way through October and I left September 2nd, and let me tell you there are days when it feels like I only left yesterday. To be honest there are days when all I want to do is go home, all I want to do is go back to Canada and be comfortable again. But you know what that's not where God has called me. God has called me to be here. I always ask the question why. Why do you want me here God, what are you going to teach me here that you couldn't have tough me at home, and I am unsure of the answer. All I know is I am here to be changed. I am here to become closer to God I am here because I don't want to be Jonah and run away when God calls me to do something. This trip is just a season in life, and seasons don't last forever. I have dropped my anchor and I am now going to start walking by faith because I can not see. I can not see what lies ahead of me, but what I can see is Gods hand on me and my team leading us as we continue on this journey. I can see Gods hand with me and my team when we go home and when we go back to normal life. This next season in life is a broken road, but when I walk by faith it doesn't matter how broken the road is, because with God he makes the broken road become no longer broken. He doesn't do the whole road at once he only a does the part we are standing on. Every step that I take is always going to be on a fixed road. I am here learning what it truly means to trust God. God never said things would be easy and I now know first hand because this last month and a half has not been easy, but I have made it and I will continue to "make" it I just have to walk by faith! For if I walk only by sight then I would turn around and go home because the road that lies ahead is a very difficult road and I can not do it alone, but when I walk by faith that road that once looked impossible to walk on now becomes possible. I don't walk this road alone, God comes grabs my hand and walks every step of the way with me!

I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see, because this broken road prepares your will for me!!

Now just I want to tell you guys a little bit of what I have been doing here. Here is what my day looks like. I wake up around 8ish have legit pancakes for breakfast :) then me and my team are helping adding another bedroom to Mario's house. His house is located on the property. We are adding another room for his boy. So in the mornings we all kind of work on that or just kind of hang out. Then we eat lunch and at 2 we go to Bethel (petel is how you pronounce it) then we are they till 5. We just hang out with the people there. We make relationships and play soccer or volleyball. It's not very big so we just go we're ever. However last week me and another guy stayed back and worked on the house. I mainly work on the house after lunch because everyone is gone and its so much easier to get a lot of stuff done when its not crowded and since I was helping at the start I wanted to stay and help with this project. So we lay bricks and mix cement the old fashion way. The same way we mixed it in Haiti aha. So we work on that till about 4ish then we eat dinner and then we have team times after dinner and a lot of nights we watch movies. We are blessed to have a projector here and a computer sound system so we are able to watch movies with pretty good sound! So that's pretty much what am average day here looks like.

Something really cool that happened was on Sunday we went to a baptism at a really nice beach in Leon. The baptism happened in the morning and 4 people got baptized. Them after that was over we had a free day at the beach. Me and my buddy whose a babes, Kory, went and had a coke and grabbed food then we went and did some sweet body surfing. It was so fun!

Well thanks again for reading and sorry I haven't posted a blog in a couple weeks. I miss you guys and thanks again for all your prayers and support I could not be here with out your help and support! I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving and I will see you sooner then we know it!

Love Riley!!
